Yes. DNP Remote connects to the Mac Bridge, a lightweight companion server that runs on your Mac. The Mac Bridge is also free, and it handles the WebSocket connection that lets your iPhone talk to Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and other AI coding tools.
DNP Remote currently supports Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and OpenAI Codex. You can switch between agents within the app, and more tools will be added as the platform grows.
When on the same Wi-Fi network, the app auto-discovers your Mac via Bonjour - just scan the QR code shown by the Mac Bridge and you're connected. For remote access from outside your home network, DNP Remote supports Tailscale VPN so you can reach your Mac from anywhere.
No. All communication is direct between your iPhone and your Mac via a TLS-encrypted WebSocket connection. Your code, chat messages, and file contents never pass through any third-party server - everything stays end-to-end encrypted on your local network or your Tailscale private network.
Yes. With Tailscale installed on both your iPhone and your Mac, DNP Remote works over any internet connection - cellular, hotel Wi-Fi, a coffee shop, wherever you are. Tailscale is free for personal use and creates an encrypted peer-to-peer tunnel between your devices.
